Disquietude – a poem

Recent whiteboard prompts and pretentious poetry has sparked new ideas for my writing. Lazy breaks dazing on the couch have turned into a ballgame of words and flurries of expressions. My friends and I are taking on ostentatious art, reviving the school corridors. Here is to subpar poetry.

Disquietude

entwined between the aortae

of what love you once rekindled

before asphyxiating reckless promises

confounded upon threads as

brittle as these bones you once

caressed –

now crush your knuckles and

stain your fingertips

under saline words, echoing vacuous.
